I have been in the debt collection field for over 20 years. I have held positions ranging from a debt collector to the director of the division and everything in between. I have seen and witnessed every type of violation of the FDCPA. New laws are always being put in place but not enforced until a lawsuit is filed. The collector preys on the ignorance of the consumer. I am sickened by what this industry has become. It is motivated solely by greed. I was once asked is it possible to be a bill collector and not violate the law. My answer at the time was " of course it is". I no longer have that belief. The pressure that is put on the collectors to collect, by any means necessary is incorrigible.
